I am a writer looking at science, health, nature and society.
I opt for honesty over dogma.
I choose complexity over easy answers.
Before I started writing, I spent six years studying the human microbiome, health geography, and the history of medicine. I earned advanced degrees from the Universities of Kentucky and Minnesota along the way.
I now live with my wonderful partner, Ben, and our young daughter, Poppy, in the beautiful Sonoran desert in Tucson, Arizona, on Tohono O'odham land.
